A Lookback At 2017

I think 2017 has to go down as one of my all time favourite years!! I have had some amazing weddings this year and been so lucky to photograph some really sweet and happy people. I have had some super fun garden party weddings which I LOVE!! This year I’ve had some pub and village hall weddings which I have enjoyed so so much, especially all the gorgeous details couples have added, it help each wedding feel unique which is amazing! I’ve had the pleasure of working at some lovely venues as well with some great wedding suppliers.

There’s no single thing for me that stand out to have made this year so great, I think it’s just a combinations of lots of little things that have come together. My clients have had quite a big role to play though and for that I am super grateful and so thankful to you. Week in, week out, seeing how happy and in love people are and getting to document that has honestly made my heart so content and I feel like you give my soul a little happy recharge every week. You guys are a big part as to why I have loved 2017 so thank you so so much!

I’ve done a lot of thinking this year about this little business I’ve built and how I want it to evolve and ways I want to look after my clients and give them the best photos to tell the story of their day. I think I’m also finally at a point (after 6 years) where I am admitting to myself that this is my career. It seems like such a silly thing, but I think leaving school at 15 I’ve never felt like I deserved a job that I enjoyed or some what liked. Here I am though with this amazing job that I love with all these hopes and dreams for this little photography thing that I started at 21. It’s almost like it’s just hit me square in the face this year as to how far it’s come and that I might actually be proud of myself……..What! I’m so excited to keep working hard to provide the best service to everyone who puts their trust in me to take their photos. This job is a total privilege and this year I have been so aware of that and so grateful to be doing something I enjoy so much!

2017, thank you for having me. 2018 lets do this!!!

I will be taking January off from blogging, turns out trying to post 2 blogs a week is pretty challenging. I will be working on new content and getting ahead so that I can continue to post pretty weddings and helpful posts every week from February. If there is anything in particular you’d like to see on the blog feel free to let me know in the comments at the bottom of this post.
